Rose Marie Thompson was born in Madison Heights, Virginia on January 1, 1918 to the late Thomas and Lilly Thompson.  She passed away quietly on Monday, February 13, 2017.

The only girl of five children, Rose was raised first in Glen Hazel then  in Homestead, PA where the family moved when she was 9 months.  Educated in the Homestead School system, Rose graduated in 1936.

Rose joined Second Baptist Church in 1933 at the age of 14 under the pastorate of the late J.D. Morgan.  Rose was very active in the church.  She was secretary for many years of the J.D. Morgan Missionary Society and Secretary of the Sunday School and the Women's Bible Class.  Rose was also on the Board for the MUSA agency and also part time secretary for their office.

Rose married William T. Williams  on September 15, 1941, a beautiful union that lasted more than 65 years.  To this union were born three children, Conrad and Rosemary (both deceased) and Pamela.

The Williams family built their home and family business on East 13th Avenue.  Rose was the Office Assistant for this business for many years.  The family resided in Glen Hazel for many years before moving to Homestead.

In 1991, Rose had a stroke and became home-bound.  She was care for by her late husband Willie T Williams until his illness and death.  Rose then moved to the Locust Grove Assisted Living Home in West Mifflin where she resided at the time of her death.

Rose leaves to cherish her memory, her loving daughter Pamela (Larry) 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
