Denise Marie Towns (formerly Goney) passed away in her own home February 21, 2024, after a six-year fight with cancer. The fight was a life-long fight in many ways, as Denise's own mother succumbed to Leukemia when Denise was just fifteen years old.

As the oldest of four children, Denise (known as Deenie to her family and friends) helped raise her younger siblings while continuing her own high school education. After high school, Denise enrolled in the Army, serving as private first class until her honorable discharge in December 1977. During this time, Denise also married her husband of over fifteen years, William Towns. Denise and William had two children, William Jr. and Charlette, during their marriage. Following her military service, Denise graduated from Community College of Allegheny County with an associate degree. Denise also started a daycare business, Other Mother's daycare. Later in life, Denise worked in home healthcare where she cared for numerous patients even throughout her illness.

Denise is survived by her ex-husband, William Towns Sr.; two younger brothers: Alvin "Shotty" Goney and Andrew Seto; her younger sister: Deborah Goney; her two children: William Towns, Jr. and Charlette Perkins; her son-by-friendship: Jerry Kusis; seven grandchildre: Kira, Paige, Ian, Aria, Ben, Devin, Nyla; and one great grandchild: Iris.

Memorial Service will be held at New Day Ministry, 808 Main Street, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, on March 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM
