Donald Alex Givner was born on December 22, 1950.  Raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Alex attended Westinghouse High School.  Donald went into the United States Marine Corp. and received highest honor for first Marines out of Parris Island.  Not only was he a soldier, but also a provider and protector.

Early in life, Donald started a family.  He then met and married the love of his life, Patricia Givner.  Donald worked many years at a medical supplies sanitation company to provide for his family.  He was a strong and devoted father and husband.

On January 28, 2014, at the age of 63,  Donald left this world to join his brother Anthony Givner on their journey home to be with our family.  Anthony was preceded in death by his father, the late Leon Givner, Sr., brother Ronald (Nickey) Givner, son Larry Giles, and nephew, Anthony Givner, Jr.

Cherishing his memory are his mother Yuvonne (Bonnie) Smith-Givner,  his  loving brothers and sisters:  Leon Givner, Jr., Shane Givner, Lonnie (Rickey) Givner, Carole Goodman-Givner, Kim Peays, Shawna Smith and Tammie Smith.

Donald also leaves behind his children:  Donald Alex Givner, Jr., Alex Givner, Larry Giles, Winema Givner, and Shalane Givner, 14 beautiful grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins
