Obituary

Dorothy Anne Jennings (Thomas) was called from her earthly duties on October 18, 2022. She was born in Athens, Georgia on October 24, 1940, daughter of the late Allen Thomas Sr. and Annie Mae Thomas. She was the second oldest of 7 siblings. Dorothy was educated in the Pittsburgh Public School System where she attended South High School and received her GED at Connelly Vocational School. She was employed by Presbyterian University Hospital and the Hill House Association Child Care Center as a Teachers Aide in Pittsburgh for several years. Dorothy was a very strong and independent woman who was fun loving to be around. She loved her family and friends. She was always kind and cared about people whether she knew you or not, she loved to dance and do crossword puzzles; her favorite music was JAMES BROWN. She would always say "you better find something to laugh about in life." Dorothy was raised and faithfully attended EBENEZER BAPTIST CHURCH where she was a member for over 30 years and ushered until she became ill. She loved Jesus Christ with all her heart and soul until her passing. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Gloria Thomas, Catherine Thomas, Darnell Thomas, Allen Thomas Jr. and Denise Thomas, Donald Jennings Sr. (husband) Dorothy and Donald Jennings Sr. joined hands in matrimony on May 17 th ,1957 until his passing in 1997. They were married 41 beautiful years.

She leaves to cherish her legacy one loving sister, Barbara Coles (Lynwood Coles) brother-in-law, 5 children: Julius Jennings, Debra Jennings (Rodney Brown), Donald Jennings Jr., Jacqueline Jennings (Ambro Johnson) and James Jennings, 19 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
