Age 95, transitioned on March 30, 2021.  John was born in Braddock, PA on September 29, 1925 from the union of Fletcher Hughey and Eunice Martin.  John married and dedicated his life to his wife and children.  He worked diligently for many years as a Union Representative for US Steel.  John's work led to many advancements for the workers of the infamous Steel Mills that Pittsburgh is known for.  John leaves to cherish is memory and legacy to his sons Raylan (Deborah), John Jr. (Laureen), and Larry (Pearl) Hughey; daughters Beverly McClain, Joanne Russell (Robert), and Khadijah Muhammad (Abdullah); 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren; and 14 great great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Unity Baptist Church on Friday, April 2, 2021.  Visitation:  11:30 AM-1 PM Walk Through Only            Service: 1 PM
