Obituary

Lance Renald Davis was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 11, 1955 to the late Martha Jean Davis.  After the passing of his mother, Jean, he was raised by his grandmother, the late Beatrice Davis and surviving aunt and uncle, Bernice and Julian Lucas.   He is also survived by his uncle, William James (also known as "Brother") and his cousins, Tony and Tracey, who shared a bond more of siblings than cousins.  Other surviving relatives include a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss his genuine smile and hearty laugh.

Lance attended Pittsburgh Public Schools and completed coursework at West Virginia Wesleyan College in journalism.  He was a phenomenal and accomplished writer, even penning a copy written manuscript for "Slasher Flick" a movie modeled after his favorite movie genre, Horror.  Lance told wonderful stories and was in the process of writing his own, detailed depiction of his first hand experience of the Pittsburgh Steelers' Immaculate Reception in 1972 at which he was present with his grandfather, the late Robert (Bob) Davis.

His hobbies included books and movies of all sorts, which resulted in an extensive video collection.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and football.  Lance was an avid dog lover and never met a dog that he didn't immediately fall in love with.  His connection with animals shows just how much of a gentle soul Lance was.

Although Lance's passing was sudden and unexpected, he spent his 59 years on this earth making an impact on everyone  he met.  Lance will be truly missed.

Interment will be private.
