She was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1974 and the District of Columbia Bar in 1975. She began employment with the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board in April, 1980, as a General Attorney in the Office of Appeals Counsel. Rose met Evans Tyson while they were both students at Howard University in November 1971. They married on September 1, 1979, and of this union two children were born; Roselyn Ohui Tyson and Ashley Ogbo Tyson, both of Washington, D.C. Rose cherished her family and was generous to them and many others.
