IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tamara Yvette
McLemore
March 2, 1974 – March 5, 2026
Tamara Yvette McLemore, affectionately known as “Tam” or “Tammy” was born on March 2, 1974, in Pittsburgh, PA to Deborah and Eugene McLemore. Tammy was raised in Duquesne, PA. She attended John F. Kennedy Elementary School, Duquesne Middle School, and Duquesne High School. Tam excelled in academics and was a star player on the Lady Dukes Basketball team. She graduated from Duquesne High School, with honors in 1992 and briefly attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Tamara began her employment journey with UPMC, where she remained for over a decade. Later, she became a dedicated U.S government employee who served for nearly 2 decades with the Department of Veterans Affairs and The Center for Disease Control and Prevention. In every role, she brought a meticulous work ethic and a passion for improving the lives of others. Her dedication to the mission of both agencies leaves a lasting legacy in the public service sector.
Tamara was a gifted cook whose love for food went hand in hand with her ability to bring people together. In every meal she prepared, she created a space of comfort and connection, where family and friends gathered and felt at home. Tamara also had a remarkable gift for nurturing children with a balance of love, guidance, and discipline. Whether they were her own family or young lives she encountered along the way, Tam nurtured them with a rare authenticity and realness. She met each child where they were, offering genuine care while also guiding them with strong, steady principles. Tamara’s commitment to being an advocate for children led her to accept the role of Director of The Young People’s Department at Payne Chapel A.M.E. Church for several years, where she was also a member.
