Delores Scales-Rue

Age 90, Delores was born on March 23, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA to John Henry and Alma Lewis.  She was the oldest of 11 children.  She attended Holmes School in Oakland and later attended Gladstone Elementary and Junior High School.  Delores graduated for Taylor Allderdice High School in June 1947.  She was baptized at an early age.  Delores became a member of Morningstar Baptist Church  in 1950 where she remained until 2005.  She was a member of the choir during her long and faithful service to the Lord at Morningstar Baptist Church.  She was married to Pleasant Henry Scales on November 30, 1947.  This union birth seven children and she worked as a nursing secretary for 20 years at Montefiore Hospital.  Mr. Scales passed away and Delores was a widow for 16 years.  She later met and married Roy Rue.  Delores enjoyed bowling and became one of the state champions before retirement.  She made her heavenly transition on March 17, 2021 in Pittsburgh. 

She leave to cherish her memory her brother John; loving sister Omega (James); three loving sons, Henry (Lynn), Phil (Martha), and Randy (Jennifer); two loving daughters Angela (Roger), Patricia; along with 29 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Morningstar Baptist Church.  Visitation: March 25, 2021   4pm-8pm     Service: March 26, 2021   11am
